Top 3 in Photography

Every couple of weeks or so I plan on sharing some of my favourite photography pieces. A huge part of being a commercial photographer is staying up-to-date with all the latest gear and software, which is constantly changing. So I figure this is a great opportunity, not only to share with you some of my favourite pictures from the past few weeks, but also so I can catalogue new gear and software, that you may like, and which I would eventually like to own.
1. Camera Gear: The camera I have at the moment is the Canon 5D mark iii. I invested in it for uni last year and seriously it has been the best decision! It's definitely at the top of my favourite gear list. On the top of my wishlist is the Canon 85mm 1.2 lens. It is a great prime lens, especially if you are into fashion. The bamboo tablet I use in conjunction with photoshop to edit some of my photos, and is a lot of fun. And finally, a very handy speedlite is the Canon 430ex ii. I take is to all my location shoots and it is very easy to carry around. Of course I will go into more detail about the pros and cons of all this gear in future posts. But for now, I just wanted to share with you what I'm loving at the moment.

2. Photography: I thought I'd share a few extra photos from my Light Paradise photoshoot. As I've been having a few nostalgic feelings about summer lately, I've enjoyed looking back at this shoot in particular, which was taken in summer last year.

3. Software & Editing: Being on location for a photoshoot is a feeling like no other, but there's also the other side of taking an image - post production. There is something I just love about being behind the computer - maybe it's the fact that  I consider myself a bit of a perfectionist, and editing often requires being very tedious to get that final, "perfect" image. One of my favourite things to play around with are Photoshop actions and I just LOVE this set released by A Beautiful Mess. These photoshop actions, which you can learn all about here, are perfect for enhancing your images or adjusting the feel of your photos. While I experiment and try new actions all the time I'd love to release my own set one day!
